Genuine.
Real.
Compassionate.

Nicholas believes that if someone is struggling, he wants to help. It really is that simple. Whether you’re going through something rough, feeling exhausted from trying to pretend everything is "fine" or going through a crisis. Nicholas wants you to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. If he can give you even a few seconds of relief, help you gain some traction, or watch you begin to feel more confident, that means a lot to him.

Nicholas works with children 5+, youth, adults, and families. He especially values working with people who may have spent a long time feeling like there is something wrong with them because they don’t function the way the world expects them to. He believes there is nothing inherently wrong with being different. Sometimes, what gets labelled as “weird,” “wrong,” or “broken” is simply a difference that hasn’t been understood or supported.

A big part of Nicholas’s work is helping people feel genuinely seen and validated. He believes emotional intelligence and validation are deeply important and often underestimated. With children and youth, he sees counselling as a particularly meaningful opportunity to build these skills early—to help them understand their feelings, communicate what they need, navigate bullying and other challenges, and begin walking through the world with their shoulders back, knowing that they matter.

Nicholas values honesty, authenticity and isn’t afraid to challenge people when it can help them move forward. He also believes counselling should ultimately help people reach a point where they can “fire” their counsellor: where they feel comfortable with who they are and no longer feel they need to become someone else to be accepted.

As a single father who has experienced his own ups and downs, Nicholas brings those experiences with him while maintaining an open and unbiased perspective.

Above all, Nicholas believes life is meant to be lived and he’d be honoured to walk alongside you for part of that journey.
